 Dr Lee has a 7th Dan in Iaido from the year 2000 and 7th Dan in Jodo from 2002 both of which are under the all Japan Kendo Federation (Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei). She has a 1st Dan in Kendo(1992) under the British Kendo Association. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists UK (qualifications FRCA in 1975) and worked in most of the teaching hospitals in London during her post graduate training having qualified MB BS from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine.  She also managed to get an acupuncturist qualification Lic. Acu from the College of Acupuncturists of London.  Her budo career is only for her own interest or hobby.  She always studied under proper organisations and supported herself from her medical work.  The two went on side by side in that she practiced her budo whenever she could after work committments had finished.  Her interest in Aikido started in 1961 or 1962 and continued up to the point hwere she reached 7th Dan in 1991.  Her interest in Iaido and Jodo started in 1981 and Kendo around 1987.

Dr Loi Lee Shihan is a world-renowned authority on Koryu Kata and is one of only a handful of non-Japanese to have had extensive training from Professor Tomiki and Hideo Ohba Sensei direct.

She has written three books on Tomiki Aikido and has produced Videos and DVDs as teaching aids, currently these are the most sought after worldwide.

Over the weekend there will be a JAA Shidokan Grading, candidates must contact the organisers prior to the date so that permission to grade can be approved.
